Revelo sees surge in Latin American talent for post-training LLM roles

Revelo, a Miami-based platform connecting U.S. companies with Latin American software developers, reports a surge in demand for talent skilled in post-training large language models (LLMs). This growth occurred throughout 2024, with LLM-related hires making up 22% of Revelo’s revenue. The company, led by CEO Lucas Mendes, supports major clients like Intuit, Oracle, and Dell, as well as numerous hyperscale AI providers.

Demand Driven by AI Development Needs

The increased demand stems from a need to improve LLMs using expert human data, particularly in coding and other specialized tasks. Post-training of these AI models helps enhance their performance in specific areas that automated training alone cannot fully address.

Lucas Mendes explained that tech companies initially hired a few experts from Latin America, appreciating the quality and cost balance. This led to a larger interest in the region’s developers who provide nearshoring advantages, such as similar time zones.

Revelo’s Expanding Network and Services

Founded in 2014, Revelo has grown its network to over 400,000 vetted Latin American developers. It manages not only hiring but also payroll, benefits, taxes, and compliance for U.S. clients.

Key expansions include the 2022 acquisition of Mexico-based Listopro, which added 50,000 professionals. The company also acquired competitors like Alto and Paretisa in recent years.

Key Benefits Encouraging U.S. Firms

  • Time zone alignment between Latin America and U.S. companies
  • Cultural compatibility easing remote collaboration
  • Cost efficiency compared to other global regions

Revelo’s recognition as an AWS Services Consulting Partner in February 2025 confirms its growing role in AI development support.

Context and Broader Industry Trends

Despite a general corporate trend toward in-person work, U.S. companies continue to rely on Latin American programmers for AI-related roles. This reflects an ongoing shift toward remote and nearshoring workforces within the technology sector.

Revelo’s success highlights Latin America’s rising significance in supplying AI talent to global markets, supporting advanced artificial intelligence initiatives efficiently and effectively.
